When You're Expecting Twins, Triplets, or Quads, Revised Edition : Proven Guidelines for a Healthy Multiple Pregnancy

by Barbara Luke, Tamara Eberlein

Reviews

"When I found out I was pregnant with twins, I looked to pregnancy books to help, but they approached twins as "a little extra pregnant". It wasn't until this book that I started REALLY knowing how to care for myself and my 2 babies. It saved my pregnancy and my sanity. A MUST! For example, the worshipped "What to expect when you're expecting" books gave me absolute INCORRECT information regarding exercise, diet, weight gain, working... and I spent the first part of my pregnancy miserable that I was losing weight and feeling awful. Something in my gut told me that 10 pounds in the first half of the pregnancy wasn't enough for twins. Also, the diet they wanted me to follow was making me throw up every day. My body, again, told me to just eat whatever I could keep down, but "THE BOOK" made me feel guilty about even LOOKING at a cheeseburger. Well, again, THANK GOD I found Dr. Luke and Tamara's book. It confirmed everything I'd already felt was right. Plus, it is written with a great positive attitude with so much encouragement. I would not be having such a healthy pregnancy without it. I will never stop being grateful for this book! I've told so many people about it and am happy to spread the word. READ IT READ IT READ IT!"

Everything You Need to Know to Have a Healthy Twin Pregnancy

by Gila Leiter, Rachel Kranz

Reviews

"This book offers a concise description of what it is like to be pregnant with multiples. It gives you an overview of major issues dealt with in twin and higher order pregnancies and then provides details on each trimester and labor/delivery. The "What you may notice" section for each trimester lets you know what are normal symptoms of multiple pregnancy while alerting you to dangers. The author, a doctor and mother of twins, presents a balanced view letting you know that you can do this while pointing out dangers. She does an amazing job of informing you but does not terrify you. This has been my main resource during this pregnancy. "

   Raising Twins

by Eileen M. Pearlman, Jill Alison Ganon

Reviews

"I bought this book as a follow up to Ganon's TWINS! My daughters just had their first birthdays so we're jumping the gun a bit with "Raising Twins" but my wife and I are already getting answers to many of the things we've been wondering about - such as dressing the girls and handling their birthday parties and there is a lot of very good information about schooling and socializing for twins all the way through their teen years. The conversations with twins themselves from six year olds through twins in their teens and early twenties are fun and in some cases very touching. I recommend this book without reservation. "

Twins to Quints: The Complete Manual for Parents of Multiple Birth Children

by National Organization of Mothers of Twins, Rebecca Moskwinski

Reviews

"(...) this book covers EVERYTHING FOR EVERYBODY! It will take you from pregnancy through the college years and beyond, and has information for the stay-at-home parent as well as the working parent, for those dealing with special needs to those coping with multiple loss. The information/advice is sensible because it is based upon the experiences of mothers of multiple birth children who belong to the National Organization of Mothers of Twins Clubs. This group definitely knows what parenting twins, triplets, quads and more is all about! The highlighted quotes included in the book show that this is a book written about real-life situations, with real-life solutions."

   Twins!

by Charlotte Doyle, Julia Gorton

Reviews

"This happy family consists of twin girls and their parents. Raising twins is a different world for both parents and kids. There are twice as many toys and twice as many spills. Loving two babies is how it all begins. There are two bottles, two chairs and two bears. The twins go to the park to swing. They see the bunnies and ducks, two of each. There may be two babies, but only one mother's lap. Daddy has one book to read to two babies. The twins share one yellow duck in the bath and one lullaby. The twins then get into bed and go to sleep. This bedtime story with rhyming text is clever and well designed. An interesting illustration technique that includes some photographic elements is contrasted with a very simple silhouette style, alternating by page. These bright simple illustrations will attract the attention of even the youngest children, and please adult eyes as well. 2003, G P Putman's Sons, Ages 3 mo. to 3. "
